FringeArts internships offer training for those whose career interests include all facets of nonprofit arts administration and management.
In addition to day to day activities, FringeArts interns have access to and can experience:

Chapman University ’18
Major: Dance Performance
Minor: Public Relations
What do you expect to get out of your FringeArts internship?
I am hoping to acquire more knowledge about the administrative side of the performing arts and cultivate my creativity through a different outlet while focusing on communications. Since I just moved back to the area, I am also excited to reintegrate myself into the incredible Philadelphia arts community and interning at FringeArts puts me in the heart of it.
What’s your favorite food spot in Philly? Why?
I’ve had a constant craving for pho for the past few months and Streetside has been my go-to spot.
What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled to?
There are so many incredible cities around the world but the one that sticks out to me most is Berlin. The city’s historical background blended with its’ progressive and artistic energy makes it electrifying. It is so culturally rich and caters to such a wide range of lifestyle preferences. It also doesn’t hurt that the food is incredible and the U-Bahn makes it extremely easy to get around.

What do you expect to get out of your FringeArts internship?
I hope to gain more experience in the professional realm of the arts as well as strengthen my self-discipline when it comes to adhering to deadlines and project specifications. I also want to make work that I’m proud of that aligns with the FringeArts style.
What’s your favorite food spot in Philly? Why?
Little Baby’s Ice Cream! I don’t know if it necessarily counts as ‘food’ since it’s ice cream, but it’s the only place I’ve been able to get a huge variety of vegan flavours! Also, the atmosphere of the shop is always quirky and fun.
What’s your most embarrassing moment?
My entire existence has been an embarrassing moment, but I would have to say that looking back at my time in the Homestuck cosplaying community has to take the cake as the most cringe-worthy.

What do you expect to get out of your FringeArts internship?
I definitely want to be able to expand my marketing and development knowledge in the entertainment industry. I also want to expose myself more to the Philadelphia arts community and aid in creating products that promote diversity and talent, which I think FringeArts does so well in a variety of unique ways!
What’s your favorite food spot in Philly? Why?
This is a tough question but I’d have to say my favorite food spot definitely would be Schlesinger’s. It’s just such a classic Jewish deli and has such a retro feel to it. The atmosphere (pickle bar and all) is a lively combination of older generations and newer ones which I think is what any restaurant aspires to create.
Who would be your celebrity spouse?
Oh, easy. Cillian Murphy. He’s a talented and humble actor that has participated in quality productions. More importantly, he stays out of the public eye which is something I definitely respect him for, especially since he’s such a high profile actor. But mainly because he’s just good looking.

What do you expect to get out of your FringeArts internship?
I’m hoping to learn more about not only how professional festivals and productions are run, but to get a better idea of the theater community in Philadelphia. Because so many people have experience at multiple theaters and have gained tons of connections over the years, I’m hoping to build more connections myself with the knowledge and experience I’m gaining with this internship.
What’s your favorite food spot in Philly? Why?
In terms of somewhere I will always have a strong craving for, Shake Shack must have some special ingredient that makes the Shroomburger just incredible to consume. I mean mushrooms, cheese, and a special sauce? Unmatched. As for an only Philly thing, HipCityVeg is unreal because I never thought after 5 years of vegetarianism, I could have a cheesesteak.
What is your go to karaoke song?
Never Gonna Give You Up – Rick Astley. I should have been a teenager in the 80s.

What do you expect to get out of your FringeArts internship?
A better understanding of how professional theater is able to operate, so I can translate the skills I’ve acquired through extracurriculars into a professional setting. I am also looking forward to the connections I will be making.
What’s your favorite food spot in Philly? Why?
The Vietnam Restaurant in Chinatown, because I’ve been going with my family all my life. But it used to be Johnny Rocket’s on South Street (R.I.P.)
What body part would not mind losing? Why?
My nose. There are a lot more bad smells out there than good smells.

What do you expect to get out of your FringeArts internship?
I am hoping to develop my professional skills and knowledge in accounting software and documentations. Also, making connections and getting to know the awesome staff around the FringeArts office in all different departments.
What’s your favorite food spot in Philly? Why?
I have only recently started exploring the food scene in Philly. I love exploring Reading Terminal market, however, my favorite restaurant has to be Jamonera. It is a small tapas bar lit with dim red lights and candles with a variety of authentic foods from Spain. It is my favorite because the atmosphere is very relaxed and inviting and the food is incredibly tasty (they also have happy hour). Would recommend ordering a cheese and meat board along with the mixed seafood and meat paella.
What three items would you take with you if you were going to be shipped off to live on a stranded island?
If I were shipped off to live on a stranded island and could only take three items I would take an open bar, a hot tub, and someone I would enjoy a vacation with.

What do you expect to get out of your FringeArts internship?
From my internship at FringeArts, I expect to work hard and learn as much as I can in every department I can. I hope to create lasting connections and meet as many people as I can.
What’s your favorite food spot in Philly? Why?
Val’s house because we’re neighbors and she throws amazing Italian feasts, holiday parties, and is just the best person to be around, on top of being an amazing cook! #ItalianMomLife
What is the best and worst purchases you’ve ever made?
The best purchase I have ever made was my college tuition. Without my time at Temple I would not be who I am today. I have made so many lifelong friends, made so many industry contacts, have had wonderful experiences, and have been given the opportunity to travel even more than before. However, $90,000 in school debt might change my answer in the coming year….
The worst purchase I have ever made was buying tickets to see The Trailer Park Boys this past December for a guy I was talking to at the time. We broke things off a week before the show and I had to tell him about the tickets after since he didn’t know about them. I ended up going with a friend of mine and I would give anything to have those two hours and $50 back. Worst show I have EVER seen…

What do you expect to get out of your FringeArts internship?
I hope that I can learn more of the in’s and out’s of development and make new connections within the Philadelphia performing arts scene. I am excited to learn new skills, improve on my existing ones, and meet new people!
What’s your favorite food spot in Philly? Why?
I am a huge foodie, so I have many favorites but recently I have had a thing for Lebanese and Israeli food. My two favorites recently have been Suraya in Fishtown and Dizengoff in Rittenhouse.
What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
Going backpacking in three California national parks, in the middle of the winter. It was mentally and physically extremely challenging but such an adventure!
