2019 Fringe Festival Registration

The annual Fringe Festival floods Philadelphia with performances, exhibits, experiences, and events connecting artists and audiences. This is your chance to join the community, make your mark, and be a part of the action! Performers, artists, and creators of all kinds are invited to register. The 2019 Fringe Festival will take place Sept 5–22 around Philadelphia and online.

Whether you have been creating for years or you are just starting to experiment, your work deserves a platform to connect with audiences and artists from all over.  Last year had 364,229 page views during the Festival and sold over 32,000 individual tickets, and the FringeArts App had over 1,600 active users leading up to and during the 2018 Fringe Festival.

2019 Registration Pricing

$350 – Flat Rate after April 1, 2019
$300 – Student Rate (Includes Class of 2019 May graduates)
$275 – Multi-Show Rate ($275 per show) for producers who present more than one show during the 2019 Fringe Festival
$200 – Flat Rate for Non-Ticketed Visual Arts Exhibits/Installation/Experience with open gallery hours
$50 – Digital Fringe works (hosted exclusively online and live during the Festival)

Digital Fringe Guidelines

Digital Fringe is the FringeArts platform for online works, from games to websites to live streams and video series, and everything in between. Read the guidelines below for details on Digital Fringe pieces.

  • Artwork must take place online or in an app
  • Must be free and accessible to anyone with the link
  • Cannot be a personal portfolio (link must go right to the artwork)
  • URL’s must be working and we encourage the use of shorter URL’s
  • Date and time are optional (default will be that it runs the entire Festival)
  • Shows are able to open or close at any point – URL must be given a specific date during the Festival that it is “live”

2019 Fringe Festival Artist Deadlines

March 1, 2019 – June 3, 2019 – Fringe Festival Registration is live

June 3, 2019 – Step 1: Registration & Festival Guide Information Due | This includes: show name, discipline, venue information, show dates and times, running time, sort description, and guide image.

June 14, 2019 – Extra Guide Ad Deadline | For artists who wish to purchase an extra advertisement in the Fringe Festival Guide. This includes payment, info, and artwork.

July 12, 2019 – Step 2: Marketing & PR Materials Deadline | This includes: company bio, web address, keywords, multimedia links, press release, and any high resolution photos.

July 26, 2019 – Step 3: Certificate of Insurance and W-9s | All participants in the Festival must obtain general liability insurance covering themselves and FringeArts. Box Office reconciliation checks will be mailed by Mid October- to the name and address reported on W9. Click here for the Artist Insurance Form. Keep in mind, you are not required to use this exact insurance provider, but must provide proof of insurance for your performance.  Artists must also submit an updated W-9. Sept 27, 2019 – Step 4: Final Box Office Reports and Survey Due | All at the door ticket sales must be recorded and reported back to FringeArts

2019 Independent Artist FestiFund

The Independent Artist FestiFund of CultureTrust is a scholarship fund creating grants for artists who need support to continue their important work.

All Independent Artists registered for the 2019 Fringe Festival are welcome to apply for the Independent Artist FestiFund of CultureTrust Greater Philadelphia!

An independent panel of volunteers will select five (5) projects as beneficiaries of the fund through a blind selection process. The criteria of selection will be based on intended use for funds, and project’s intended impact on it’s audience and community.

The more we raise, the more support each artists receives!

Philadelphia Design Center Partnership

A 24/7 Computer Lab. Textile Studio. Meeting Space. And More… Built just for you!

FringeArts is partnering with The Philadelphia Design Center (PDC) to help you make this the best Philly Fringe Festival yet! As the region’s only nonprofit co-working space focused on supporting theatrical producers and designers, PDC is the perfect place for you and your team to prepare for this year’s Fringe Festival.

This year, PDC is offering you a unique opportunity to utilize their nonprofit coworking space to support your work! Sign up now and receive BOTH the Digital Lab and Textile Studio Creator memberships for $70 a month for 6 months — from April 1st through September 30th. That’s over $50 off PDC’s regular monthly fees for resources you can share with your collaborators! Your Festival Membership includes…

  • 40 hours/month of guaranteed computer time
  • 25 hours/month of guaranteed textile studio time
  • 20 hours/month of guaranteed meeting space for small creative teams

Vision Driven Artist Workshops

Vision Driven Consulting (VDC) supports the visionary work of artists, community groups, and not-for-profit organizations through consulting, facilitation, and training. Vision Driven Artist Workshops are free and/or low-cost capacity-building workshops for self-producing artists/musicians, arts organization staff, and event curators in all disciplines.
