About the Show

In this solo performance, Mariana Valencia pays homage to the work of artists of Mexican descent—from East LA collective Asco to Mexican pop culture icons Don Ramon, El Chavo, and Maria Felix. Like New York’s experimental dance history, these pop cultural icons have informed her work, and are evoked in a swirling atmosphere of influence.
