About the Artists

The Bearded Ladies Cabaret is a Philadelphia-based troupe of artists who use cabaret to tackle the politics of gender, identity, and artistic invention with glitter and wit. We create performances that function as trojan horses, employing pleasure, spectacle, audience interaction and song to reveal the audience to themselves, and to seduce them into moments of discomfort, complicity, and heart. We make our own interdisciplinary productions and create stages for daring cabaret artists in Philadelphia and beyond, aiming to make our city an international hub for artists at the intersections of queeness, nightlife, drag, performance art, and cabaret.

Supporters

The Beardmobile and Love Tour is supported by a grant from The Barra Foundation. The Beardmobile of The Bearded Ladies Cabaret is also a sponsored project of Painted Bride Art Center, Inc. made possible by a grant from Wyncote Foundation. Additional support provided by Barbara Teichert and The Velocity Fund administered by Temple Contemporary at Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University with generous funding from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. Additional support also provided by Beardviewers like you.
