“One of the few groups successfully taking theater in new directions.” The New York Times

It’s never ordinary.

Couples break up. Bands split apart. Cells cleave in two. Particles collapse. Fringe favorite Pig Iron Theatre Company returns to the Festival with the world premiere 99 BREAKUPS, a theatrical — and scientific — look at endings, exits, disintegrations and the stories people have in common. Working with writer Kirk Lynn (Rude Mechs; Austin, TX) and choreographer Dayna Hanson (33 Fainting Spells; Seattle, WA), 99 BREAKUPS is a collection of small moments writ large, allowing audiences to witness when private conversations are exposed to public spaces and when suppressed emotions explode into tantrums.

Previous Festival shows include: Pay Up (2013), Zero Cost House(2012), Twelfth Night, or What You Will (2011), Cankerblossom (2010), and Welcome to Yuba City (2009).

Funding for the development of 99 BREAKUPS has been provided in part by the Independence Foundation New Theatre Works Initiative; by the Charlotte Cushman Foundation; and by the William Penn Foundation.
