What message do you have for the world?

Send us words of hope, a rallying cry, a relevant poem, inspirational quotes, or anything you need to get off your chest. DVAA is gathering community messages to project outside for the world through a digital form that anyone can submit to. Messages can be submitted in any language by anyone currently residing in Philadelphia.

A Sign of the Times is an ongoing interactive community art installation on the facade of DVAA’s building on Catharine Street. For it, DVAA has mounted a 40” scrolling text LED sign outside the gallery (a la Jenny Holzer). Day and night, this sign will continuously stream DVAA community-submitted messages out into the neighborhood. At a time when our normal community outreach programs cannot continue in full, DVAA still yearns to support both our members and our neighborhood home. Our combined efforts will leverage DVAA’s position in South Philadelphia to inspire fortitude and hope. Now more than ever DVAA will endeavor to be a hub for the community as we devise new ways to build and maintain communal bonds.
