Two Jewish American activists. One sordid Jewish-Palestinian romance. One oppressive state! What will the heroines learn about Zionism, mismatched queer desires, cycles of abuse, political guilt-based objectification, and fantasies and realities of domination and submission? Find out more, in this rousing “comedy.”

Humble Mumbles is a many-pronged project of a pollyannaish-Macchiavellian nature. As a multimedia storytelling project about Palestine and its many corollaries — such as trauma, guilt, injustice, sex and death — we strive to illuminate the libidinality of ho hum everyday politics. Our main frame is feminism. Our lay infrastructure is queer psychoanalytic, and our primary medium is podcast. The work addresses a variety of topics, but the main theme of each piece is a personal-political exploration of power and oppression. Sometimes we create lyrical anti-zionist academic screeds, apocryphal alternative grunge bands and dreamy, Richard Linklater-influenced talk-based theatre pieces such as this one (Bad Activist: Sex Politics, Palestine and You).
