THE GORGEOUSITY
The Gorgeousity is a delicious, immersive art-weapon, designed to combat and transcend the societal demons which divide us and diminish our human potential. The company was created in 2013 as an audience-generated, improvisational collaboration between artists and attendees. Each experience is guided by Ancient Muses of Music and Dance, Aoede and Terpsichore (Falato and Getz, respectively). Gently transforming audience members into an instant-ensemble of makers and playmates, each Gorgeousity adventure stealthily takes attendees on a journey through their collective imaginative potential, as they metaphorically and fantastically face and transcend some of society’s greatest problems.
JENNIFER BLAINE
Jennifer Blaine has been performing solo shows for 25+ years. Her original works delve into serious and socially relevant issues and provide audiences the opportunity to unite in laughter. She’s opened for George Carlin and performed with Chris Rock and Joe Piscopo. The Philadelphia Daily News says “her comic genius is like Lily Tomlin and Tracey Ullman.” She has performed in every Philadelphia FringeArts for the festival’s first decade. Some of her 17 FringeArts works include Sorry, White Flight, Hearing Voices, and Ridiculous, which asked the audience to end the patriarchy once and for all. She is also working on a musical, Mannequin, about the rise of white nationalism in our country.
