Philadelphia’s own Revolution Shakespeare produces its fourth full production in conjunction with Hawthorne Park, a seven-person Cymbeline, from September 20th to October 1st. This challenging play, one of Shakespeare’s “romances,” marks RevShakes’ fourth foray into the Fringe, following last year’s hit, King John, and will feature some of Philly’s finest local actors in one of Philly’s loveliest public parks.Cymbeline features company members Mitchell Bloom and Griffin Stanton-Ameisen, as well as Newton Buchanan, Izzy Castaldi, Sabrina Profitt, James Tolbert III, and Twoey Truong in Revolution Shakespeare’s first small cast production. Design work by Andrew Cowles, Doug Greene, Daniel Ison, Brad Pouliot, and Natalia de la Torre. Production managed by Lauren Tracy. Revolution Shakespeare founder and artistic director, Griffin Stanton-Ameisen, had this to say about Cymbeline: “We are thrilled to be back in Hawthorne Park to present this beautiful and rarely-seen play. Our audiences have come to expect us to tackle material that challenges us and them and Cymbeline certainly fits that bill. I think it will make for an exciting, simple, actor-driven production, focusing on how great trials and folly can bring us all together.” See you in the park!
