One Late Night in a Twilight Daze

Eventide follows the story of a young couple in a rough patch fueled by thoughtless patterns and personal misgivings. One late night, in a twilight daze, they find the freedom to relive pivotal moments, face hard truths, and pursue reconciliation, healing, and personal growth.

Eventide is a multidisciplinary piece produced and performed by modern circus performers and dancers, Kyle Driggs, Andrea Murillo, and Luna Deasy, and co-directed by Mark Lonergan (Parallel Exit) that uses expressive movement, object manipulation, and contemporary, surreal scene-setting to expose the challenges we face in romantic relationships and relationships with ourselves.

The story begins in the ether and narrows in on an earthly apartment where we find a troubled couple awake despite the late hour. Their disconnection unfolds with the interplay between present interactions and past memories, creating interior monologues.

With the future of their relationship at stake, they choose to explore the hovering, seductive void that’s been made accessible by inexplicable phenomena that dictate the mystifying early hours. There in the void, they move freely, without the weight of mental clutter, giving them a clarity that ultimately leads them toward redefining their individuality and partnership.

About the Artists

3AM is a multidisciplinary performance company that explores the twilight hours.  A place in time where dreams blend with reality, where strange things happen and latent truths can emerge. The company is the creative endeavor of performers Kyle Driggs and Andrea Murillo.

Together, they combine their expertise in contemporary dance, cirque nouveau, and physical theater to explore the intersections and boundaries of their art forms. While the narrative changes with each project, the viewer can expect an experience that transcends spectacle to challenge one’s relationship with everyday objects and universal sentiment.

Independently of one another, Andrea and Kyle’s work brought them to New York City.

Kyle was performing Paramour, Cirque du Soleil’s Broadway show, while Andrea was headlining in the Off-Broadway hit, Sleep No More. Although they met by chance, their mutual interests and instant connection developed into friendship, collaboration, and ultimately, romantic partnership. Today, their close ties fuel the fervor of their artistic undertaking and inform the scope of their work.

In the summer of 2020, 3AM hired their first company member, Circadium School of Circus graduate Luna Deasy.
