About the Chefs
Kiki Aranita and Chris Vacca own and operate Poi Dog, a restaurant, food cart, and catering business in Philadelphia. “Poi Dog” is a pidgin term that refers to the mixed nature of their hybrid Hawaii-style food. Their menus are rooted in Hawaiian cuisine, but also draw upon cultures that have heavily influenced the food of Hawaii, such as Filipino, Japanese, and Portuguese. In the six years since Kiki and Chris started Poi Dog, they have catered events from beer festivals to galas, taught cooking classes, and traveled around the Philippines learning to make regional specialties from street food vendors.
Celebrate the holidays and support groundbreaking performing arts at this series of intimate dinners on the FringeArts Theater stage Dec 9—13. Centered around a unique theme each night, the FEASTmas dinners include original four-course menus personally prepared by Philadelphia’s most exciting culinary talent. Participating chefs and restaurateurs include Kiki Aranita, Ari Miller, Jill Weber, Pete Woolsey, and Joncarl Lachman with Lee Styer and Randy Rucker. See what’s cooking the rest of the week at FEASTmas!
