Healthcare Heroes – A Radioplay
Marc Hem Lee
September 27-October 4
2020 Fringe Festival
36 minutes
Pass the Hat
Anchor
This is my project in Verbatim Theatre, a genre that uses real events as the backdrop for the story. When I originally conceived the idea, there was only one visible health crisis. It quickly became clear that the efforts of the many healthcare workers were subverted.
All proceeds from the Pass The Hat contributions will be donated to the Okra Project.
The production can be accessed anytime on Anchor.
Transcripts available here.
Audiences can listen at any time from the comfort of any listening device. Headphones are recommended. There may be some content that addresses the topic of mental illness/suicide within the piece. Listener discretion is advised and there will be clear indication in the story where the topic is brought up, with an opportunity to skip ahead in the story if desired. Recommended for ages 18+.
About the Artists
Marc Hem Lee: I am currently a medical student and by the time this show airs, I will be on my clinical clerkship.
I would be remiss to not credit the people who have been so gracious in letting me use their voices for this project, including Julia Levy and Laura Mullin.
