I <3 SNOOTY is a work of nearly bad multimedia plushie-puppet theater. This brief virtual performance journeys into the imagination of Snooty, the oldest manatee ever held in captivity, in his final moments. Reunited with some of his dearest manatee friends, he ruminates on love, isolation, and what comes next. Using green screen sets, projection, and toy and shadow puppetry, this silly and loving meditation follows our old friend Snooty through the complexities of captivity and community, life and legacy, and pineapples and strawberries (his favorite snacks!).
I <3 SNOOTY is a collaborative piece made by Raychel Ceciro and Logan Gabriel Schulman. Raychel & Logan are creative and romantic partners who spent the majority of their lives in the great underwater state of Florida.
Note: there is mention of death in this work. Recommended for ages 13+.
