Clickety tappity clackety tap. 3am. It’s been all night. You thought your neighbor was addicted to Facebook. Surprise! They’re writing! Celebrate and get to know current, local area writers via two live readings in West Philly: Thursday Sept 13 is sci-fi / horror themed, and Sunday Sept 16 focuses on local women writers.

This is a salon-style variety of local Philadelphia area writers. We’ve got fiction, memoir, rant, poetry and even critical essays. Special emphasis is on sci-fi and horror genres 9/13 and women writers on 9/16. Some may even make a double appearance! We’re also proud to partner with Rhythm & Bones Literary magazine. You might enjoy the causal chats with the writer/performers/lit crowd as much as the works themselves.

Lara B. Sharp is a blogger, playwright and comedian currently working on a memoir of her childhood in the foster care system. Read a sample of the memoir here.
Samm Deighan (female) writes and edits about darker sides of cinema and life. Credits include: Editor, “Lost Girls: The Phantasmagorical Cinema of Jean Rollin”; Associate Editor, “Diabolique Magazine” and podcast Co-Host, “Daughters of Darkness”
Max D. Stanton is a writer of horror fiction and student of the weird. Publication credits include “Hinnom Magazine,” “Lovecraftiana,’ “Sanitarium,” “Disturbed Digest,” “World Unknown Review,” “Corporate Cthulhu,” “Under a Dark Sign,” “Candlesticks & Daggers,” “Year’s Best Transhuman Sci-Fi 2017,” and “Death’s Garden” anthologies.
Lora Bloom writes fiction, poetry and lyrics for her band Radio Eris. Credits include many Radio Eris albums and a chapbook of poetry from Blood Pudding Press.
Tickets purchased day-of-show will be $10. Unfortunately this venue is not wheelchair accessible.
