What do you need to shed to feel free? During the pandemic, undressing became a near-daily solo artistic practice for me. In this performance, I’ll share some of my findings through peeling/shedding/stripping away. You can contribute by donating clothing you’d like to discard (a sweater from an ex, leggings that don’t fit post-pandemic, a t-shirt from that job you quit). I’ll costume myself from your cast-offs and all clothing will be donated after the performances. And yes, I plan to take off my (or rather, your) clothes.

About the Artists
Miryam Coppersmith (she/her or they/them) is a performance maker, writer, dancer, and educator. Her performance work aims to redefine and reinvigorate live space and engage with the present moment. Drawing from a DIY punk ethos, a desire to blend the lines between disciplines, and a love of teaching and learning, each performance intends to be the start of a real conversation between the performer(s) and audience. Her most recent work centers friendship as the סוֹד, the secret, at the center of collaboration. This year, she was awarded the Get What You Need artist in residency for her Lunar CoLab digital improvisations project. Her work has been presented at Mascher Space Cooperative, Get What You Need/BodyMeld, You Can’t Fail, and the Digital Dissolving Doors Festival. In 2018, she created ArtDates, an ongoing “instant collaborations” project, which was featured in the Philadelphia Digital Fringe Festival. https://www.miryamcoppersmith.com/
