Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Boris Charmatz reinvent their dance in the instant, and within the labyrinthine lines of Bach’s music played live by violinist Amandine Beyer. Chords strike within their bodies, the counterpoint vibrates and comes to life, bodies begin to whirl.
In her opus of over forty dances, this is the first duet De Keersmaeker has composed for herself to dance with a man. Partita 2 presents a meticulous construction that plays off the whimsical, boyish, and at times titanic improvisatory flights of Charmatz.
