The Pocketbook Diaries is based on a poem written by my collaborator, Eugene “the Composer” Brown. Over the years of Eugene presenting this satirical piece, I suggested, why not create a series of skits/proofs based on his poem. This project begin in 2017, had its first reading last November and was well received. A very. visual and whimsical piece that represents the attachment and survival of the average handbag thru various situations.
This is a presented as a double feature with Pink Lemonade. Buy one ticket and see both shows!

Eugene was born in the impoverished city of Camden NJ. His first job was at the young age of 10 as a paperboy. He began fighting and proving his worth from childhood till today. He had to overcome many external obstacles and graduated with honors from Camden High School in 1972. Entering college was rough not knowing anyone, he became a lone wolf. During this time he was a Junior Biologist and became the first in his family to earn a college degree graduating in 1977 with a BA in Biology & a minor in English. After college he took on many different careers: starting as a banker then driver-sales and finally at the Red Cross.
