The Bodice Ripper Project
October 2-October 4
Maren Montalbano is an opera singer who loves romance novels so much she started writing salacious scenes backstage and reading them aloud to her castmates in the dressing room, and YOU are invited for a reading!
But not all is as it seems; Maren’s stories have also garnered the interest of something dark that has been lurking in the dressing room, and now Maren must face the darkness armed only with romance novels.
This performance will take place digitally and will rely on audience interaction to determine certain plot points in the show (like a choose-your-own-adventure novel).
Maren Montalbano – writer and performer
Melissa Dunphy – composer
Vanessa Ogbuehi – director & dramaturg
Janet Embree – production manager
You will purchase a ticket and then receive a link to access the performance. This performance will be live streamed, so you will need to attend in real time if you wish to participate in the outcome of the show. After each performance, a recording of each show will be available to ticket holders for 30 days.
Because audience participation will affect the outcome of each show, each performance will be different!
Please Note: This show also includes frequent graphic language and references to incidences of sexual assault. Recommended for 18+.
Friday, Oct 2 at 8pm Saturday, Oct 3 at 8pm Sunday, Oct 4 at 1pm
