The Dolls of New Albion is a Steampunk opera written by Pennsylvania native Paul Shapera. Based in the utopian world of New Albion, the show explores love and humanity and asks the question: Can you resurrect a person’s soul and place it in a machine so it can live on?

Manayunk Theatre Company was founded in January 2014 by Artistic Director Sean Connolly and Managing Director Gabe Henninger. The company aims to bring exciting theatre works to Manayunk and strengthen the community through arts education. The Dolls of New Albion: A Steampunk Opera by Pennsylvania Native Paul Shapera will explore the exciting world of steampunk through the study of our humanity. This will be Manayunk Theatre Company’s third show and the US premier of The Dolls of New Albion. Written by Pau Shapera, Directed by Gabriel Henninger, Produced by Sean Connolly, Musical Direction by Josh McHugh, Stage Managed by Matt Clark, Assistant Stage Manager Travis Fischbach.
