The Illinois Five is the story of five African American friends who find themselves in the middle of a race riot circa 1920. Forced to choose between life and death, they escape going their separate ways only to meet back up years later faced with reality of the choices each of them made.

Thought to Life Productions was founded by Actor and Playwright Teresa Miller who resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Teresa first appeared in Suzan Lori-Parks “In the Blood” while still attending The Walnut Street Theater. Her unrelenting desire to write lead her to write her first play “The Last Act” and was followed “The Illinois Five” which was performed as a staged reading in the summer of 2013. Her subsequent writings include “Freud and His Negro” and “The Devil in the Room”. In January 2016, Iron Age Theater will debut her play “Ninety-Nine Shots, a Requiem for Fred Hampton”.
