She currently performs this role both as a student of dance and as a student of sociology in the honors program at Swarthmore College, where she plans to graduate in May 2017. In 2015, Janko studied contemporary dance techniques, improvisation, and choreography at ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival. Janko approaches performative spaces through the lens of her everyday experiences and examines her everyday experiences through the lens of performativity. Her recent work has investigated social representations of female bodies, the performer/audience relationship, and a controversial piece of public art. Janko is interested in the social role of art in communities, and in 2011 founded the Sarasota-Manatee Dance Alliance.
