Traces of She is a mosaic of the ways femininity sits in our bones, the inherited postures we carry or leave behind, and the paths through which we flow and fold between archetypes. In this evening length affair, three choreographers present diverse works highlighting the female embodied.

Meredith Stapleton is a Philadelphia-based dance artist and teacher. She grew up in Harvard, MA training at Acton School of Ballet and performing with Commonwealth Ballet Company. In 2013, she graduated from Muhlenberg College as a Dance major and Women’s Studies minor. In Spring 2012, Meredith studied in Arezzo, Italy at Accademia dell’Arte. She has attended many summer workshops, including Burklyn Ballet Theater, Alonzo King Lines School of Ballet, the Boston Conservatory, on scholarship with Summer Stages at Concord Academy, and Doug Varone & Dancers. Meredith has performed works by Corrie Cowart, Trinette Singleton, Meredith Rainey, Sean Curran, Teresa Fellion, The Bang Group, Heidi Cruz-Austin, Charlotte Boye-Christensen, and Jeffrey Peterson. Since moving to Philadelphia, Meredith has worked with DanceSpora, Nora Gibson Contemporary Ballet, Moth Dance Theater, DRIGGProductions, Evalina Carbonell, Sean Thomas Boyt, Kat J. Sullivan, The Naked Stark, and Antonia & Artists. She rehearses her own stage, site-specific, and film projects out of Headlong Studios and Mascher Space Co-op. Meredith is on faculty at Koresh School of Dance and Muhlenberg College.
Evalina Carbonell, known affectionately as, “Wally,” received her early training at the National Ballet School in Maryland. She also spent summers at the Washington Ballet School and Alonzo King’s Lines Contemporary Ballet School. Evalina earned a BFA in Dance from Florida State University. Upon graduation, she joined the Roxey Ballet Company, dancing as a principal artist from 2005-2011. She has performed as a free-lance artist with the NYC-based Dance Iquail, and in Philadelphia with Antonia & Artists, Jessica Warchal-King, Jae Hoon Lim, Brandi Ou, and Meredith Stapleton, among others. In 2012, Evalina joined the internationally active, Philadelphia-based, Kun-Yang Lin/ Dancers. In addition to her work with Kun-Yang Lin, she performs frequently as a guest artist both nationally and locally, presents her own work in NYC and Philadelphia, and teaches dance, Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis®.
Kat J. Sullivan is a dancer and writer in Philadelphia. After receiving her early dance training at Dance For Joy in Brielle, NJ, Kat graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 2014 with degrees in Dance and Social Anthropology, as well as the Excellence in Choreography Award. She has performed with Trio C, SKI BALL, and Anne-Marie Mulgrew & Dancers Co, in addition to working with independent artists such as Sean Thomas Boyt, Meredith Stapleton, Antonia Z Brown and Evalina Carbonell. Kat’s work has been shown throughout Philadelphia and New York City, including the renowned Come Together Festival (PHL). Kat has choreographed and taught dance for the Wolf Performing Arts Center, and she interns for The Iron Factory and thINKingDANCE.
