I went unaccompanied to Úumbal but immediately felt like I was surrounded by hundreds of friends—my community. What a joyful, immersive experience it was to walk, dance, sing, and move through the streets of South Philly in celebration of our diversity. I will never forget how proud I felt to be a Philadelphian and how much my face hurt afterwards from smiling!
