Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby this Saturday!

Posted May 12th, 2009

This Saturday, May 16, for the third year in a row, the Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby will race its way through the Trenton Avenue Arts Festival. The derby features art that moves and this year 19 teams, consisting of some 90 team members, are ready to compete! More like a parade than an actual dash to the finish line or smash up, teams are trying to win various prizes like Best Art and Best Costume, and perhaps avoid the ones Best Breakdown and 2nd to Last. More than 4000 people are expected to attend the festivities, with many last minute hangers-on joining the derby in outlandish costumes.

Get thyself to the corner of Trenton and Dauphin in Kensington for the best views. Check out www.kinetickensington.org for more info.
