Tonight: A Comedy of Errors

Posted July 29th, 2009

Shakespeare in Clark Park opens yay! Well, if the weather holds. The show will go on barring heavy rain or thunderstorms, so plan to head over if what’s out there right now abates. Although I do recommend a thermos of very cold Martinis be by your side. Apply as necessary to alleviate the debilitating effects of this freakishly soupy evening.

A Comedy of Errors is directed by theatrical gadabout Alex Torra, fresh off his stint assistant directing at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre (see our previous feature on Alex), and the rehearsals for Pig Iron‘s Welcome to Yuba City, which, given that they currently take place in a non-air-conditioned warehouse space, maybe left him smelling less fresh. But that shouldn’t affect tonight’s performance.

7:00 pm, free, tonight and every night through Sunday, Clark Park, between Baltimore and Kingsessing avenues and 43rd and 45th streets, Philadelphia.
