Fringe Limerick: Paint the American Eagle by Reuben Wade

Posted August 19th, 2009

Janice Smith writes in with a poem about Paint the American Eagle by Reuben Wade.

Dickens wanted to set the world straight.
His stories and lessons were great.
Did he have faults of his own?
Would he have changed had he been shown?
Or are pride and stubbornness innate?

And check it out: Brenna Geffers is involved with this piece. She directed EgoPo’s production of Woyzeck last year, which, in case you missed it, was freaking awesome—one of best plays I’ve seen in my four years in Philadelphia. Paint the American Eagle opens September 17 at Philly Fringe, and runs for three performances at the Old First Reformed United Church of Christ in Old City.
