Meet TwitterFest Winner #2: Leigh Goldenberg

Posted September 8th, 2009

Congrats to Leigh Goldenberg, who is the second winner of TwitterFest! Thursday’s winning tweet from @leighalice:

welcome to yuba city: that waffle will never be unbuttered #liveartsfringe

I emailed Leigh to find out the story behind her tweet, which, honestly, I liked but didn’t understand. But that’s because I haven’t seen Welcome to Yuba City yet.

“I always include Pig Iron in my festival-going and I never know what they are going to come up with,” Leigh says. “Welcome To Yuba City was full of amazing imagery and movement, an overwhelming amount of costume changes, and the specific, original characters that Pig Iron always delivers. I’m still processing what it all means, but the quote I tweeted stuck with me as one lesson. I can never un-see this show, or not have any experience that I’ve chosen for myself. No matter how minor something is, like some butter on a waffle, it’s reality now.”

The new-ish Marketing Associate at the Arden Theatre, Leigh’s been in a number of past Fringes with her New York based group, Stone Soup Theatre Arts. But this is the first year in a while she’s not producing something, so she’s actually free to see a bunch of other shows. I’m glad we could add one more to her list.

And if you want a pair of free tickets, all you have to do for a chance to win is use the tag #LiveArtsFringe in your tweets about the Festival. And you can search by the tag to see what people have been talking about so far.
