Third Love: “Waiting for Elmo”

Posted August 18th, 2010

Samuel Beckett was famously wary of adapting his plays from one medium to another. In response, YouTube users have unanimously said, “We don’t care!” This week we’re running YouTube’s finest interpretations and parodies of Beckett plays to get you in the mood for the 2010 Live Arts Festival production First Love by Samuel Beckett, performed by Conor Lovett.

Today’s installment: Sesame Street’s Monsterpiece Theatre performs Waiting for Elmo,”A play so modern and so brilliant it makes absolutely no sense to anybody.”

First Love by Samuel Beckett runs for four performances September 3 through 5. Suzanne Roberts Theatre, 480 South Broad Street, Philadelphia. Various times, $25-30.
