The Science of Theater

Posted July 11th, 2011

Upcoming Live Arts show WHaLE OPTICS is out to explore the boundaries of communication, to contemplate our relationship with Earth’s oceans, and to immerse the audience in a story that will carry them all the way to the coast of Antarctica. Tall order? Sure. But director Thaddeus Phillips isn’t going to let that stop him.

Tonight, Phillips invites audiences to sit in on a discussion of his multifaceted piece. Touching on the questions surrounding fiber optics and whale songs, Phillips will elucidate the process of incorporating scientific research into theater. He welcomes questions following the presentation.

Part of the Science on Tap series, this presentation will be held at National Mechanics (a bar in Old City) TONIGHT, July 11th, at 6pm. For more details, go here.

This is a free event.

Science on Tap is held on the second Monday of every month at 6pm. This program is for people age 21 or older, but folks under 21 can come with a chaperone who is older than 25. (Like a degenerate uncle.)
