Philly Fringe Limerick: Voice of this Generation

Posted August 5th, 2011

Voice of This Generation 2011 Philly Fringe flyerComposer Melissa Dunphy (The Gonzales Cantata, 2009 Philly Fringe) thinks that Kanye West is not the voice of her generation, anyway. She wrote in with this limerick for the 2011 Philly Fringe performance Voice of this Generation, organized by Penn grad students Tony Solitro and Scott Ordway to showcase seven Philadelphia composers under the age of 35:

The composers at Voice of this Generation
Said, “What art song needs is lubrication.”
So they set up a show
Where FOR FREE (doncha know)
You’ll hear music — with your own libation!

Voice of this Generation runs September 17 at 7:00 pm, and September 18 at 2:30 pm and 7:00 pm, First Unitarian Church, 2125 Chestnut Street, Rittenhouse Square. Free! (But suggested donation is $10.)
