The Miss Rockaway Armada

Posted August 22nd, 2011

The Miss Rockaway Armada group photographTHESE guys know how to get around. The Miss Rockaway Armada is a collective of artists from all over the United who have already traveled from Minnesota to Mississippi . . . by way of a homemade raft. Using this sustainable mode of travel, the group arrives at their destination, performs, and then creates a large art exhibit from their flotilla.

Created from recycled and salvaged materials, The Miss Rockaway Armada’s newest floating exhibition will travel on the Schuylkill River before the festival. They’re currently on the move, working their way from Broad Street to Bartram’s Gardens–check out their website to follow them around. For the Philly Fringe, they will parade with the Spiral Q Puppet Theatre from Broad Street to Pine Street, and then onto Clark Park! Live music, a puppet show, and fun will follow. After the festival, Let Me Tell You About a Dream I Had will become an exhibit at the Philadelphia Art Alliance.
