Amanda V. Wagner and Julius Ferraro started Curate This, a web-based platform for artists to define and drive the conversation about the arts in Philadelphia, to celebrate and encourage collaboration. “Journalism in Philadelphia struggles to give proper coverage to the breadth of artistic offerings here,” they explain so they want us all to get drunk and talk about it.

Tonight, Friday, June 10th, Curate This will leave the online realm their first live event, the Curate This Panel Drunkscussion at Tattooed Mom. Wagner and Ferraro promise slurry art talk and drinking games. Indy Hall resident artist Sean Martorana, Mural Arts teaching artist and muralist Jared Wood, and independent director/choreographer/producer Sam Tower will be joining Wagner and Ferraro for a night of discussion, drinking and dancing. “We’re about 75% sure that the best ideas happen when you’re drinking,” the organizers muse. In fact, the idea to start an online publication came to Wagner while drinking so it’s kind of like coming full circle.

DJ Rich Wexler will be providing choice tunes while Curate This auctions off surprise goodies.
