There’s something special happening across the street from FringeArts. habitus, organized by the Fabric Workshop and Museum and part of the 2016 Fringe Festival, is on view now at Municipal Pier 9 until October 10, free and open to the public during scheduled hours. Visitors have found themselves enraptured by the dreamlike beauty of this interactive interior landscape. Here are just some of the recent posts showing off the serene spectacle of this must visit installation.

At the far end of #AnnHamilton’s Pier 9 installation, beyond the field of curtains, an inaccessible figure practices the ancient craft of spinning fleece into yarn. Another figure at a table slowly unravels knit garments to form a cloth of holes. These acts of making and unmaking face each other in #habitusFWM, and mark human time and agency. #PhillyFringe16 [Photo by @hardnthepainter]
At first glance, visitors might not register that #AnnHamilton’s curtains in #habitusFWM are made of Tyvek. The artist worked with @fabricworkshop’s studio staff to transform the same synthetic material that protects buildings during construction through washing, tea-dying, and hand printing.
