Fringe Festival Assistant Production Manager
The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for assisting FringeArts’ Director of Production and other Production and Front of House staff with ensuring smooth operations for shows presented by FringeArts on and off site. The Assistant Production Manager works closely with all production team members and reports directly to FringeArts’ Director of Production.
Duties & Responsibilities:
● Work with Festival TD and Venue Managers in ensuring smooth rehearsal, tech, and performance processes
● Assist with transportation of various needs from venue to venue
● Act as a FringeArts representative throughout the duration of the festival
● Assist with festival-wide organization
● Interface with all relevant departments (including Front of House/Box Office, Company Management, Stage Management, Development, Marketing)
● Provide production support in a variety of departments
● Maintain excellent working relationship with artists and companies
● Assist all Production coworkers in troubleshooting and resolving tasks across all departments and active venues
● Supervise overhire crews when other supervisors are unavailable
● Participate in load in, load out, and show prep duties as needed
● Relevant duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum of 2-3 years experience in theatre operations, stage management, or production management; troubleshooting/creative problem solving; strong leadership skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in other technical departments (i.e. scenic, lighting, sound), working with international artists, and touring companies is a plus.
Dates: August 18 – October 4, 2025
Workweeks vary from 8-16 hours during pre-/post-production and 30-45 hours during Festival weeks.
Compensation: $5,400 stipend

Fringe Festival Technical Coordinator
The Technical Director is responsible for supervising all technical needs for shows presented by FringeArts on and off site. The Technical Director works closely with all production team members and reports directly to FringeArts’ Director of Production.
Duties & Responsibilities:
● Supervise load-ins and load-outs in conjunction with FringeArts production staff, Venue staff, Artist TDs, and other personnel, as needed
● Lead and participate in scenic construction, along with FringeArts Technical Coordinator
● Lead and participate in load ins, load outs, and other work calls as necessary
● Interface with all relevant departments (including Front of House/Box Office, Company Management, Stage Management, Development, Marketing)
● Coordinate schedules with production department to maximize efficiency at work calls and balance workload
● Work with Production and Programming coworkers to efficiently meet artists expectations
● Purchase/rent (and if necessary deliver) equipment and materials for shows
● Monitor expenses and stay within the production budget
● Maintain a safe workplace and ensure that safety rules are followed in theater and festival venues
● Maintain excellent working relationship with artist companies
● Assist all Production coworkers in troubleshooting and resolving tasks across all departments and active venues
● Relevant duties as assigned

FringeArts Internships
FringeArts internships offer empirical training for students and emerging professionals whose career interests include performing and visual arts administration, arts production, and all facets of nonprofit administration and management.
Interns of all academic and professional backgrounds are welcome. FringeArts interns support programming, marketing, development, event operations and more. Academic credit may be available. Internships are available year-round on an ongoing basis. Interns are significantly needed before and during our annual month-long Fringe Festival, presented throughout Philadelphia each September. Interns typically serve approximately 20 hours per week during regular office hours (10-6, M-F), primarily at our Old City offices. Hours are flexible.

Financial Arts Management Intern
The Financial Arts Management Intern will work with the Finance Director and the Finance Associate on the daily bookkeeping, budgeting, and administrative needs of the organization.
Note: this internship is from Sept. 5 – Dec. 15th!
Responsibilities:
- Assist with financial management operations
- Learn accounting software
- Assist with accounts payable, account reconciliation, credit card purchases, and petty cash processing
- Help update budgeting & forecasting spreadsheets
- Assist with HR paperwork
- Scan and file vendor documents
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Detail oriented and organized
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once
- Affinity for numbers
- Experience & comfortability with Excel & Google Suite
- Background in finance, accounting, and/or arts administration preferred
While this internship is unpaid, college credit is available depending on the intern’s college program. FringeArts will provide interns with a $200 travel stipend to be used for transportation costs.
18-20 hours per week preferred. Occasional weekend hours and evening hours may be required for events. Please note we are a dog-friendly office!
