fallawayinto: Corridors of Rememory
Ninth Planet
January 22 - February 1, 2025
Multimedia play written by Arielle Julia Brown, directed by Nia Benjamin
At the center of Fallawayinto: Corridors of Rememory is a multi-media play by Arielle Julia Brown, constructing a living sanctuary that unites audiences in collective celebration, mourning, and remembrance. Donna Nicole Booker, born again in memory, spirit and flesh, leads audiences through a ritual for the recollection of her life, times, pasts and futures. Traversing her travels, sex work, evangelism, mothering, daughtering, art making and activism, Donna rides on the wind of fragmented confessions, heresay, testimonies and songs to share with us her singular life as a Black woman of trans experience. Conjuring memory by her side is her mother, her younger self and her beloved dog on a journey that invites us all to consider the futures of our collective bodies, memories, families and legacies.
Masks are required at all performances and community events.

History
Fallawayinto: Corridors of Rememory is a multi-modal project that uses live, mutli-media theatre, ritual, installation and communal gathering to invite Black queer and trans* Philadelphians, constructing a living sanctuary that unites audiences in collective celebration, mourning, and remembrance. Surrounding the world premiere of Arielle Julia Brown’s multimedia play, Fallawayinto, Ninth Planet presents a series of free community programs curated by and for Black trans women in association with FringeArts, with presenting partnership from the Painted Bride Art Center.
About Ninth Planet
Ninth Planet makes experimental dance-theatre that centers people of color, women, queer and trans* people in Philadelphia. By making original work with and for these communities, we raise them up as prominent and valuable voices within and beyond the world of theatre. We believe that performance is a life-sustaining force for our community, and we are committed to making our work accessible by offering it for free or low-cost in neighborhood spaces and theatrical venues.
Our shows are designed to activate imagination, self-reflection, and a sense of adventure through the collision of dance, theatre, music, and installation. By following a different curiosity with each project, we invite our audiences and collaborators of all ages to discover something new about themselves and the world we live in. Our work is an investigation of what connects us and separates us, and the inexplicable experience of being alive together.
