FringeArts Map

Are you craving that special cabaret flavor? The Bearded Ladies and FringeArts have been saving something special for you. We’re opening up the tupperware and re-heating Late Night Snacks deliciousness. Featuring our rotating Bearded hosts, the Midnight Munchies live band, and some second helpings of Snacks artists—along with some new faces—served up monthly on first Fridays at FringeArts this winter.

Upcoming Shows

Friday, March 1 at 8pm

From the far reaches of conference rooms and the deep, dark corners of stained cubicles comes HARD NO! Philadelphia’s Arts Administration Metal Band! Ditch those Slack channels and revel in release with Jess Conda, Josh Machiz, Chris Sannino, and Rodney Whittenberg. Then, Eric Jaffe serves up a musical feast of buttery vocals and decadent drag with a side of sweet, sweet camp. Don’t worry, she’ll bring enough to share! Hosted by Eric Jaffe and Jess Conda.

Past Events

Friday, December 1 at 8pm

Coming in hot this holiday season: Edith Piaf (Jarbeaux) kicks off the holidays with the indifference only a dead French chanteuse can muster. Then Mabeline (Cookie Diorio), ex-wife of the Grinch, shares her version of what really went down in Who-ville. With a special guest appearance by Philadelphia Voices of Pride, whether you love or hate the holidays, this show is for you.

Friday, January 5 at 8pm

We’re starting the New Year off right with a second helping of American Girl DollTM, The MUSICAL! written and performed by Pax Ressler and Jackie Soro. Wear your best tea party drag and bring your dolls if you’ve got ’em for this sharp and campy skewering of American history. Then US and Jordan McCree of hip-hop collective ILL DOOTS take the Leftovers stage. Hosted by Jackie Soro.

Friday, February 2 at 8pm

Ok, campers! Rise and shine, and head to FringeArts for Late Night Leftovers ‘cause it’s cold out there! Beat those February blues and feed your soul with a gorgeous and intimate set from Elle.Morris and Scott Ziegler of ILL DOOTS. Then: Move over, Punxsutawney Phil! Jarbeaux takes the stage for a song or two (if she sees her shadow, we might get one more round of delicious Leftovers in March 😉)! Hosted by songcatcher Sam Rise.

The Bearded Ladies Cabaret is a queer arts organization that sits on your lap and sings you a story. Whether it’s an opera, a home-made cabaret, a musical walking tour, or a show on a truck, we employ song, spectacle, storytelling, and heart to welcome audiences into moments of joy, healing, and subversion. Through sharing our original pieces and creating bespoke platforms for performance at home in Philadelphia, nationally, and abroad, we nurture artistic connection for a community of misfits, rabble-rousers, chanteuses and the people who love and need them. Their work has been seen all over Philadelphia including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Eastern State Penitentiary, Opera Philadelphia, the Wilma Theater, FringeArts, and the Delaware River Waterfront and they have brought their cabaret revolution to Miami, Seattle, Paris, Washington DC, New Zealand, Provincetown, Maryland and Delaware. In New York their work has been seen at Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater, La MaMa Etc, Works & Process at the Guggenheim and Lincoln Center. Their signature programs The Beardmobile and LATE NIGHT SNACKS together have provided a stage for over 500 queer and nightlife artists. Find the Beards at www.beardedladiescabaret.com
