The Paul Green Rock Academy (PGRA) returns to beautiful FringeArts, along with old friend Martha Graham Cracker and new friend John Jarboe, to celebrate the music of TALKING HEADS.

TALKING HEADS are widely considered one of the most Important and influential bands ever. When considering what shows would best instruct his students this year, Paul Green was approached by his son, Walden Green (a writer for Pitchfork and writer/editor at DIRT), with the offer to co-direct a show if it was TALKING HEADS. Jumping at that opportunity, Paul then enlisted Martha Graham Cracker, with whom PGRA has worked with a number of times, most notably on Jesus Drag Superstar in 2023. When the amazing John Jarboe agreed to join and FringeArts had the dates available, we knew this would be a most special event.

The Paul Green Rock Academy (PGRA) is an advanced touring ensemble of young musicians between the ages of 10 and 18 who have been selected for their musical prowess, showmanship, love of performing, and ability to share the stage with professional musicians as they tour the world. This summer the students will be touring Europe with alumni from Asia, King Crimson, Butthole Surfers, and Frank Zappa’s band. The students play multiple genres of music from Abba to Zeppelin. PAUL GREEN is the founder of the international music school chain School of Rock, however PGRA is the school of his dreams…a small audition only school for only the most dedicated students, with branches in Philadelphia and Southwestern Connecticut.
