Second Love: Waiting for Godot, Tonight

Posted August 17th, 2010

Samuel Beckett was famously wary of adapting his plays from one medium to another. In response, YouTube users have unanimously said, “We don’t care!” This week we’re running YouTube’s finest interpretations and parodies of Beckett plays to get you in the mood for the 2010 Live Arts Festival production First Love by Samuel Beckett, performed by Conor Lovett.

Today’s installment: an original mash-up of J.Lo’s hit Waiting for Tonight and Beckett’s most famous play Waiting for Godot. Warning: you may want to turn your volume down a bit, because there’s a little (OK, a lot) of voice cracking.

First Love by Samuel Beckett runs for four performances September 3 through 5. Suzanne Roberts Theatre, 480 South Broad Street, Philadelphia. Various times, $25-30.
