Beautiful Day in Your Neighborhood Fringe: Northern Liberties

Posted September 21st, 2013

vaudevilleThe final weekend of the 2013 Fringe Festival is here. Is your energy up? Because in each neighborhood, the fest is still going strong. Here’s what’s going on in Northern Liberties.

Closing tonight with two performances is another show with a fave description: Dream Date. “One thousand years after the collapse of the American empire, an evil wizard named Todd lords over a remote isle in the Gulf of Mexico, sadistically orchestrating the lives of his wife and son, until the arrival of a band of freethinking pirates on Thanksgiving Day threatens to undermine his power.” I mean of course the evil wizard is named Todd! Sorry Todds. Dream Date runs at Vox Populi, 319 North 11th Street, 3rd floor, for its final two performances at 5:30 and 9:30 pm tonight. $5.

Is vaudeville dead? Not as long as we keep asking the question! Will promises of “hi-class ladies” lure you to RUBA? They should. Reggie’s Brodie: A Vaudeville Experience closes tonight at Ruba Club Studios, 416 Green Street, 9:00 pm. $15-$20, table seating.
