What do you feel like you’ve gained from your internship?

I believe that I am more aware of all the different roles that are present within this company and how they work to create such fantastic content. There is so much hard work that goes on to present each show and festival which has been highlighted to me by working with the people who put them on. I have gained a sense of how arts administration works and a better understanding of how both programming and marketing strategies come to light

Whose a celebrity you would trade closets with?

I would love to trade closets with Blake Lively she just has the most unique and classic style at the same time.

What’s your most played Spotify playlist?

I would highly suggest the Happy Folk playlist, there are some hidden gems on there and a great driving playlist!

What have you enjoyed most about your internship?

The day the fully printed guides arrived was really great. I spent so much time and put so much work into those things, and it was incredibly satisfying to hold a physical copy.

What Fringe Festival shows are you looking forward to seeing?

I’m very excited for Fase. I’ve seen short clips of it and absolutely loved the choreography. It works so well with the music, it’s completely mesmerizing. I also want to see Autopia. I’ve read some things the director has written, and he seems hilarious.

What is your personal theme song?

There’s this song by the Argentinian rock band Los Enanitos Verdes called “El Extraño Del Pelo Largo,” which translates to “the strange guy with long hair.” I feel like that about sums me up.

The atmosphere. I’m a sucker for exposed brick. And spontaneous piano playing.

Definitely HABIT@. I have many questions.

What is the name and life story of your crazy whimsical alter ego?

After being stripped of her favorite YSL heels and status as the nation’s top entertainment lawyer, Freddie now lives in the Virginia country with a new love for life tending to her handcrafted Canadian tux business and penning anonymous blog posts on the ever-decreasing bee population.

What have you enjoyed most about your internship?

I’ve enjoyed sitting in on meetings with artists and really appreciated the dedication to the artists’ and performers’ experience while working with Fringe.

What Fringe Festival shows are you looking forward to seeing?

I’m looking forward to visiting during the upcoming Festival to catch as many independent performances as possible, and I’m very excited for B-Side, Fase and Cartography.

What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?

Regional hot dogs 🙂

What have you enjoyed most about your internship?

I loved the working environment here in the office. People are super friendly to work with and I had the chance to learn a lot in my department. I also loved that I could get behind the stage of how shows are produced, which had given me entirely different feelings while I was watching the shows.

What Fringe Festival shows are you looking forward to seeing?

I’m really looking forward to seeing Let Me Die by Joseph Keckler.

What movie can you watch over and over again without ever getting tired of?

Pirates of the Caribbean 1, 2, and 3.

What have you enjoyed most about your internship?

I’ve loved learning about the machinations of what makes an arts non-profit run. The development department is a big part of that, and it’s been gratifying to play even a small role—scoring in-kind donations from local vendors, helping with grants, and so on. Not to mention that the other Devo intern, Madena, and I get on like gangbusters.

What Fringe Festival shows are you looking forward to seeing?

I’m super excited to see Joseph Keckler’s Let Me Die. Despite being a classical music nerd, I’m a big fan of taking the wind out of the sails of capital-I institutions, and poking fun at venerated traditions. Operatic death scenes are such a hallmark of the genre, and are also (not unjustly!) subject to a lot of criticism (how is that guy able to sing an entire aria after getting stabbed 23 times?!). I can’t wait to see Keckler’s take on this, as well as the audience response.

What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled to?

Berlin is my favorite city in the world. The culture, the people, the public transportation! If I ever win the lottery I am moving there.
