If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
This past summer, I studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland and absolutely fell in love with the city. I was able to travel all around the country and experience all aspects of Irish culture. After just five weeks it really felt like home to me, so I could definitely see myself living there someday.
What do you like most about this internship?
I really like working in such an open and collaborative environment. Everyone is super friendly and very willing to tell you about what they’re doing and how they do it. It’s also really cool to research and prepare for the shows we have coming up and then get to see them unfold. Oh, there’s also dogs here a lot. Major perk.
Where is your favorite place in Philly?
Ugh this is hard. Honestly, anywhere with a lot of green space. Or tacos. Or both? (Googling outdoor taco places in Philly as we speak)

What FringeArts show are you most looking forward to?
I’m excited to see the upcoming spring lineup, but based on the Winter 2017 schedule, I’m really looking forward to seeing Sans Everything. I’m in the Underground Shakespeare Company at Penn, so I’m always interested to see how people incorporate his works into modern productions. The concept looks really interesting!
What’s one food you can’t live without?
It’s not a specific food, but I know for sure I could not live without fruit. Like, I really love fruit. My favorites include strawberries, peaches, watermelon, oranges, and apples.
Who is your favorite artist?
If we’re talking artists in general, I’m in love with Jason Mraz, so there’s that. In terms of theater artists, I don’t know if I have a favorite exactly, but I’ve seen a lot of Wilma shows in the past year and a half and thus a lot of Sarah Gliko. I keep going back though, so I can definitely say I’m a fan of her work!

What do you do outside of FringeArts?
I’m an international student at Temple University; I double major in Film and Art History. I live in a cute little apartment, and eat and sleep whenever possible. I also help the Philadelphia Museum of Art with their Chinese social media sites.
If you could be any animal, what would you be?
If I had to choose one, I would love to be a panda because you really don’t need to make an effort to make people love you!
What is your goal after this internship?
I’m finishing my undergraduate degree at the end of this semester, so I’ll be starting to look for real jobs and applying for graduate school for art history.

Who is your favorite musician?
Right now I’d say Christine and the Queens. She’s a French singer and her live performances are insanely high energy and entertaining. She also killllllllllls a pantsuit.
What is one place in Philly you can’t live without?
Probably the 33rd floor of the PSFS building; it has the most incredible view of Center City and beyond.
What drew you to this internship?
I think the ability to customize the whole experience was a major plus for me, as well as the work itself. FringeArts puts up so many interesting and experimental shows, and it’s cool to be a part of that process.

If you could have dinner with one person, who would it be?
Oh, it’d have to be Vincent Price. Or Ed Wood. Or no, Alfred Hitchcock. I have an undying (no pun intended) affection for classic horror films, especially B-movies, so chowing down with Vincent Price or Ed Wood would be a dream come true. Hitchcock is who got me so into horror movies to begin with, though, and his films are anything but B. I’d love to hear where he got his inspiration and stories from the sets of the movies I love ever so much.
Do you know of any hidden gems in Philly?
I suppose I’ll keep with the spooky theme I’ve got going on here and say that one of my favorite spots is Mount Moriah Cemetery in Southwest Philly. It’s this huge, abandoned cemetery spanning over 300 acres with amazing views, architecture, and monuments from as early as the 19th Century. It’s a really cool spot to explore, even if you’re not into spooks the way that I am.
What is the best experience of your internship?
So far, just being in an environment that is so creative and open (literally and figuratively) is something I’m really enjoying. The tons of opportunities we as interns have to get involved in seeing shows, volunteering, attending staff gatherings, etc. is something I’m really looking forward to, and I’m excited to rack up great experiences over the next couple of months!

What are 3 things you’d bring with you to a deserted island?
My dogs (they only count as one thing), the Harry Potter series (they also only count as one thing), and a ship builder so I can get off the island (I hate the beach).
What do you hope to get out of your internship?
I want as much experience in as many areas of professional theater that I can get. I am hoping after leaving this internship I will have a better idea of what exactly I want to do in the large world of theater.
What is your favorite piece of art?
Legally Blonde: The Musical, it was the show I was working on when I realized I wanted to do theater forever. Plus it’s funny, has great music, and is all about girl power. Bend and snap forever.

What FringeArts show are you most looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to seeing It’s So Learning! This show seems so silly and fun.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
Hm that’s a tough one, I’m going to have to get sappy and say my Dad.
Where do you hope to be after this internship?
After this internship I will be graduating (woo-hoo!) I would like to be working for a non-profit or in private accounting. I hope to take the skills and experience I gained from working here at FringeArts and apply it to future opportunities!

If you could get on a plane right now, where would you go and why?
Probably Cape Town, South Africa… I studied abroad there last spring and it was so warm and fun, plus I have some family down there I’d like to see again soon!
What has been your favorite part of your internship?
Other than learning how to do new stuff like work with the Patron Manager software, my favorite part so far has been every day Scooter comes into the office. I hope there are more dogs around soon for me to meet.
What’s the best movie you’ve seen in the last month?
Definitely Jersey Boys. Absolutely. I love Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons so much and I cry at least twice every time I watch Jersey Boys (and that’s a sign of a good movie IMO).

What do you do when you’re not at FringeArts?
I spend the majority of my time outside of FA studying, working, going to the gym and classes, as well as planning my theme camp for Big Dub Festival 2017. I also practice hooping (hula-hooping) and hope to start spinning fire soon.
What is your rainy-day Netflix go-to?
Sense8, Parks and Rec, The Office, Before I Disappear, Stranger Things, and the list goes on and on.
What are your plans for after this internship?
Continue school, working, planning my theme camp and possibly completing a summer internship.

What FringeArts show is your favorite so far?
Might be “At Home with the Humorless Bastard” by Annie Wilson. It’s certainly one of the fringiest works I’ve seen here- in a good way. Fragile, brave, annoying, moving, reflecting on the real world. It’s inspiring to watch smart women on stage.
What’s one book you could not live without?
It feels unfair to mention just one book. And besides all the amazing writers, the world would be unimaginable without folktales.
What do you like most about your internship?
Isn’t it amazing to travel 4275 miles and end up feeling at home with the totally friendly and amazingly dedicated FringeArts team?
